Research in Secondary Geography with ICT

The PGCE in Secondary Geography with ICT at Bath Spa University explicitly emphasises the use of new technologies to enhance the teaching and learning of Geography in the classroom and in the field:

Quality Teaching and Learning Through ICT in geography (screenshots have been removed from this document to allow publishing)

Research in Adult Basic Education and ESOL

While working as an ESOL lecturer in an FE college, I had the opportunity to study for a Cert Ed in Adult Education with an ESOL Specialism. The vital social value of education was fully revealed and the importance of differentiated learning which allows all students to access learning formed a consistent theme in the course. Recognotion of SPLDs and how affected students can be supported was a rich field of research.

Research in EFL

From August 2001 to June 2002 I completed the Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) in Valencia, Spain. This course required in-depth research on language skills, Second Language Acquisition Theory, Syllabus Design and strategies for supporting individual learners. All research assignments required a teaching element in which theory wa sput into practice. A thorough and effective training experience which emphasised a learner-centred approach to EFL teaching.
